
Dipset collaborator Jha Jha dead at 40
Dipset affiliate Jha Jha has reportedly died at the age of 40.
The Miami rapper (real name Natoya Handy) was widely known as the First Lady of Dipset through their various collaborations.
Diplomats member JR Writer announced the news on his Instagram Stories, simply writing “RIP Jha Jha” alongside a prayer hands emoji. However, details surrounding her death are unknown.
Jha Jha was also heavily affiliated with Jim Jones’ ByrdGang collective. One of her biggest songs was ‘What You Been Drankin On’, a collaboration with Jones, Diddy, and Paul Wall.
She also featured on Dipset’s Diplomatic Immunity 2 on the track ‘Get from Round Me’, as well as Jones’ ‘Get It Poppin’, Freekey Zekey’s ‘Beat Without Bass’, Max B’s ‘Scamp Lo’, AZ’s ‘Doing That’, and Writer’s ‘What It Do’.
She released a project titled Git It Girl in 2007, featuring appearances from Writer, Max, and AZ.
Friends and fans took to Jha Jha’s Instagram posts to pay tribute following the news of her death. “Long live a real one. They didn’t appreciate her,” one person said. “She was the realest and our convos were real. Thank you for supporting my company. I had to cry bout this one.”
Someone else wrote, “You are legendary and you always showed me love I’ll always be grateful to you! The world lost an icon truly.”
“Damn man I shed tears when I found out I remember the jha jha vs geetee days on YouTube,” another person said. “I am a forever fan you repped Miami and I’ll be sure to rep you forever.”
Jha Jha’s final Instagram post was on March 19th, posting a video of her workshop to her 25,000 followers.
