DigDat found guilty of attempted murder in London drive-by shooting
London drill rapper DigDat has been found guilty of attempted murder. The 25-year-old hip-hop star (real name Nathan Tokosi) was in a stolen Audi from which six shots were fired at Daniel Offei-Ntow in Notting Hill in November 2023.
The victim, 27, was shot in the head, mouth and body, as shown in footage captured on CCTV. Prosecution barrister Kate Bex KC told the Old Bailey that Offei-Ntow was “lucky not to die” as a result of his injuries.
Offei-Ntow had bullet fragments removed from his skill after being taken to the hospital, having been found severely injured in his flat on Clydesdale Road. He didn’t participate in the trial and refused to make a witness statement.
According to the BBC, DigDat was also found guilty of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and possessing ammunition with intent to endanger life. Not only that but he was also convicted on charges of possessing a prohibited weapon and ammunition without a firearms certificate.
Detective Constable Hannah Forrest said in a statement, “This was a savage attack, with the victim requiring emergency surgery after being shot in the body, mouth and head. The verdict in this case shows that this violent criminality will not be tolerated on London’s streets.”
She added, “Tokosi is a highly dangerous individual, who had – at the time of the shooting – only just been released from prison after serving time for a separate offence.”
DigDat has over 400,000 Instagram followers and 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. He released his debut mixtape, Ei8ht Mile, in 2020, which peaked at number 12 on the UK Albums Chart. He followed it with Pain Built in 2022. Both projects were released through Sony Music Entertainment.
He’s also had various songs on the UK Singles Chart, including ‘Ei8ht Mile’ featuring Aitch, which reached number nine. Other big records include ‘Air Force’ and ‘Guten Tag’, which boasts over 80 million Spotify streams.
