Diddy steps up in support of Kanye West against Adidas

Hip hop entrepreneur and media mogul Diddy has voiced his support for Kanye West as he continues his ongoing dispute with Adidas. Following in the footsteps of Swizz Beatz, Diddy has called for a protest against the sportswear brand after Ye’s accusations that they were stealing his designs.

In an Instagram post, Diddy took it back to the 1980s and called out Adidas writing, “Since the era of Run-DMC, @Adidas has always used Hip Hop to build its brand and make billions off of our culture,” he continued to write “BUT WE ARE MORE THAN JUST CONSUMERS NOW, WE’RE THE OWNERS. @KanyeWest and YEEZY are the reason Adidas is relevant to the culture. WE KNOW OUR VALUE! I’m done wearing Adidas products until they make this right!! We have to support each other!! Everybody repost this please!!”

Diddy went on to share an exchange he had via text with Kanye West concerning Adidas and their behaviour. Diddy wrote to Kanye, “please can send me something I could post in support of you! I never wear Adidas again for the rest of my life if they don’t make you right!!!!” To which Ye responded, “Praise God. Love you.”

Diddy then took to Instagram again to post a photo of a pair of black and orange fake Adidas Yeezys with a red X, implying he will not be supporting the brand or their West-inspired designs. Soon after Diddy stepped forward, a lot of big names in hip hop began to come out in support of Kanye West. Irv Gotti posted the photo of the black and orange fake Yeezys and since, T.I., Timbaland, Consequence, The Game, and A$AP Nast all, too, come forward in support of the rapper.

In the midst of hip hop lambasting Adidas, West actually declared victory against Adidas in a post reading,  “I COULD HEAR THE JOY IN MY TEAMS VOICES TODAY,”…“ADIDAS DON’T WANT NO MORE SMOKE. THE MOVIE CREDITS ARE ROLLING. THIS WAR WASN’T ABOUT MONEY.”
