Howard University student accuses Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of domestic violence

A former student of Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs’ alma mater, Howard University, has claimed they witnessed the rapper assault a female on campus. The university alum told their story in the new four-part docuseries The Fall of Diddy, which attempts to “pull back the curtain on music mogul Sean Combs as allegations of long-hidden violence and abuse emerge to shock the world.”

The anonymous student claims the incident took place in 1988 outside their dorm room when Combs was allegedly searching for a female with anger. They say Combs whipped the wall with his belt before meeting the female student and beating her. Combs’ interaction with the woman allegedly continued in the doorway of another dorm despite the witness’ claims of verbal protests from their dorm window.

“Nobody actually really came to her rescue like we probably should have,” the student said, according to USA Today. “It’s very important to tell that young woman’s story because he was never held accountable.”

Combs was a business major at Howard University but left after his second year. The university presented him with an honorary degree in 2014, but the college’s board of trustees revoked it in June 2024.

“The Howard University Board of Trustees voted unanimously today to accept the return by Mr. Sean Combs of the honorary degree conferred upon him in 2014,” a statement read. “This acceptance revokes all honours and privileges associated with the degree. Accordingly, the Board has directed that his name be removed from all documents listing honorary degree recipients of Howard University.”

The statement continued, “Mr. Combs’ behaviour as captured in a recently released video is so fundamentally incompatible with Howard University’s core values and beliefs that he is deemed no longer worthy to hold the institution’s highest honour.”

Howard University also returned Combs’ $1 million donation and terminated his pledge agreement.
