Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs case compared to R Kelly and sex cult leaders
Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs is currently awaiting his sex trafficking and racketeering trial that’s set to begin on May 5th, 2025. Currently detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, the Bad Boy boss has attempted bail three times but failed on each occasion.
During a recent court hearing, prosecutors compared the case to R Kelly and sex cult leaders Keith Raniere and Larry Ray.
According to The Mirror, they described Kelly, who was sentenced to 30 years on racketeering and sexual exploitation charges, as a “prolific serial predator” who used his celebrity status to target young woman for sexual pleasure, before using violence and blackmail to silence his victims.
Sex cult leader Keith Raniere was sentenced to 120 years for sex trafficking, forced labour and sexual exploitation of women, some of which were minors, while also forcing them to be his “slaves.” Larry Ray was sentenced to 60 years on racketeering, sex trafficking and extortion charges after inflicting psychological, physical and sexual abuse on a group of students.
Combs collaborated with R Kelly on his hit 1999 song, ‘Satisfy You,’ which appeared on his Forever album. The song peaked at number two on the Hot 100 and number eight on the UK Singles Chart, and it received a nomination for ‘Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group’ at the Grammy Awards in 2000.
Back in March, R Kelly addressed the allegations against Combs during an interview with Wack 100. “The shit is crazy,” he said. “Motherfuckers out there laughing and making comedian jokes and doing all the other shit on the radio and everything else, but they a could be next. That’s what’s so fucked up about it. They so stupid they don’t even realise the moves that’s going on.”
He continued, “I don’t believe none of this shit. You could tell me about Puffy, you [tell me] could about anybody. You could tell me on the news, the weather, the sky is blue, I’m not gonna believe the shit. ‘Cause I’m in it now, and I know what they did.”
Combs, who has pled not guilty to the charges against him and denied all wrongdoing, is facing 15 years to life in prison if convicted.
