Legendary hip hop figure Diamond D has claimed that he has heard hours of unreleased material by Dr Dre, ready to go.
One of the longest-running mysteries in music is Dre’s Detox album, which he has now been working on for the best part of two decades, yet, it still hasn’t seen the light of day. However, there could be some new music on the way from Dre very soon on the horizon if Diamond D’s latest comments are anything to go by.
The New York MC uploaded an image on Instagram of him with Dre at the latter’s studio in Los Angeles and captioned the photo, “@drdre played about 2hrs of straight unreleased heat rocks for me and @xzibit today #ondeck shouts out to @focus3dots”.
Meanwhile, just days earlier, Grandmaster Flash revealed on the same social media platform that he’d also heard new music from Dre. He wrote, “Here in LA doing the Disco Oasis with Nile Rodgers tonite, I get a call from one of my heroes he invites me to the CRIB he takes me down to the STUDIO he played me a project that will change the game!!”
Flash went on to describe Dre’s upcoming project as “totally incredible” and added that he “topped off the day for 2hrs talking about Music, Family, Health and Life” with the mogul.
It’s unknown whether they listened to an entirely new project by the rapper or the latest incarnation of Detox. Still, their excitement speaks volumes about the quality level of the music they heard from Dre.
