
Detroit rapper shot dead in Atlanta while 14 weeks pregnant
Detroit rapper Siditty has reportedly been shot and killed in Atlanta.
The 36-year-old (real name Qualeisha Barnes) died on April 8th while 14 weeks pregnant.
According to CBS News, police officers responded to reports of a shooting at around 1:23am.
The incident took place on the 2900 block of Springside Place, with police finding Siditty’s body inside an SUV. At this time, police are trying to figure out if the bullets came from inside or outside of the car.
Atlanta Police Lt Christopher Butler said, “Upon arrival, they located a 36-year-old female deceased inside the vehicle from apparent gunshot wounds. At this point, it appears that someone fired into the vehicle.”
He added, “Be vigilant, know your community, speak out if there’s something going on in your area. The community is our greatest asset.”
The shooting is being treated as a homicide, with authorities believing the gunshot wounds weren’t self-inflicted. As of now, it’s unclear whether a suspect has been identified or if anyone else was involved in the fatal shooting.
Siditty, who had lived in Atlanta for around 10 years, was identified as the victim by her family members. At the time of her death, she was close to finishing school with plans for a healthcare career.
The rapper has over 104,000 Instagram followers. She released her album, Ditty of My City, in 2021, with features from Babyface Ray and Icewear Vezzo.
Fans took to her YouTube channel to pay tribute. In the comments of ‘Get a Check’, one person wrote, “RIP, I loved this song when she dropped it.” Another person said, “She’s so beautiful and she got skills so sad what happened to her and she was pregnant rip to her and my condolences to her family.”
