Dame Dash labels Kanye West a "troll"

Since the dissolution of Roc-a-Fella in 2007, the label’s co-founder, Dame Dash, has been an individual who has provided intriguing, compelling and exciting commentary concerning Jay-Z and other affiliated artists.

However, since the label’s demise, Dash has also been quite bitter and has expressed much disdain for Jay-Z and Kanye West. He has even commented on former Roc-a-Fella MCs such as Cam’Ron and Jim Jones. That said, the former label executive went on a tirade about West during a recent appearance on the Willie D Live podcast.

Speaking about Kanye West’s new look, with his beard and faded clothes, Dash insisted that the Chicago producer is purposefully attempting to look like a “crackhead” to troll people. The host, former Geto Boys member Willie D, has previously blasted Kanye for his antics. However, Dash insisted this is how West works.

Detailing West’s character, Dash explained, “He’s a person that pulls triggers. Look at his career. [He said] ‘George Bush doesn’t like Black people,’ ran up on Taylor Swift. It’s one publicity stunt after another. That’s his model is triggering you!”

He even compared him to Donald Trump, stating, “Just like Trump – every time Trump says something racist and we hate it, somebody loves it. He’s not talking for us. He’s talking for the ones that love it, Trump. So it’s the same thing.”

The Roc-a-Fella co-founder admitted that over the years, he has become numb to Kanye’s shenanigans and knows how he operates, so therefore, he ignores him, declaring, “That’s why I don’t pay him no mind. He’s a troll. He got everybody dressing like a crackhead, bro. He’s doing this shit on purpose. I know what you’re doing. You’re trolling.”

Insisting he wants a reaction, Dash continued, “He walk around barefoot; he’s trolling. ‘Watch this, I can get dudes to wear tights and barefoot!’ I’m not saying we had that convo. When I see it, I’m like, ‘Yo, he’s bugging,’ but I know he’s playing. He wants you to get at him. Why would he do the things he does if he doesn’t want the reaction?”

This isn’t the first time Dame Dash has spoken about Kanye West’s behaviour in recent years. Following West’s anti-semitic tirade in late 2022, the mogul told brands that they shouldn’t be investing in the producer’s products but, instead, be investing in his mental health.
