Compton rapper Geechi Gotti arrested on drug charges
Compton rapper Geechi Gotti was recently arrested on drug charges.
On February 5th, Gotti (real name Marcus Fantroy) was taken into custody in Butler County, Ohio, on several drug possession charges and one failure to comply charge.
The charges are related to both schedule one and two substances.
According to WLWT, Gotti was questioned by West Chester police during a traffic stop on Interstate 75, with an officer discovering around 3,000 stolen opioid pills. The pills were allegedly oxycodone, morphine, and Vicodin.
Three other men, Tyrus Crew, Anthony Ellison, and Lequan Miller, were also arrested after attempting to flee the scene, but were found minutes later.
Before the arrests were made, an officer said, “Get down on the ground right now! Get down on the ground! I will shoot you. Get your hands in the air!”
At a hearing, Detective Kevin Burger said, “There was a large amount of pharmaceuticals in the car that looked like came straight from a pharmacy. The drugs that were found were from a pharmacy called the Medicine Shoppe in Bellevue, Ohio. We believe cash was found as well that was taken from a pharmacy in Perrysburg, Ohio.”
He continued, “We’re looking at over 10-15 thousand dollars worth of pharmaceutical drugs at least. That’s what it is to the pharmacy. That’s not what it is worth on the streets, so we’re talking about lots and lots and lots of pills.”
Gotti is being held without bail and doesn’t have a court date set yet.
The 38-year-old is a known battle rapper and has over 170,000 followers on Instagram. His biggest song on Spotify, ‘Condolences’, has over 216,000 streams, dating to 2019.
