Colombian rapper found dead in Mexico after going missing on tour
Colombian rapper B King and his DJ, Rejio Clown, have been found dead in Mexico. The pair were reported missing before their bodies were discovered near Mexico City.
The two musicians, 31-year-old Byron Sánchez and 35-year-old Jorge Herrera, were on tour in Mexico and disappeared on September 16th, with the pair last seen in the Polanco area in Mexico City.
According to Yahoo, their bodies were tied up and covered in black plastic bags. They were found on September 17th and later identified on September 22nd.
Their manager, Juan Camilo Gallego, said that they had left the gym and were going for lunch with two people, but didn’t return any messages.
The Mexico State Attorney General’s Office issued a statement on their deaths, revealing an investigation was underway.
“Thanks to this coordination, forensic services personnel from the Mexico State Attorney General’s Office compared the profiles of the missing persons and found matches with two deceased individuals who were located on September 17th in the municipality of Cocotitlán,” they wrote. “In light of these facts, the Mexico State Attorney General’s Office is conducting a homicide investigation.”
65-year-old Colombian President Gustavo Petro also commented on the incident in an X post on September 22nd.
“They assassinated our youth in the United States of Mexico,” he wrote. “International mafia strengthened by the stupid military and prohibitionist policy, called the ‘war on drugs,’ which they force upon humanity and Latin America. More young people killed by a drug policy that is not an anti-drug-trafficking policy.”
In his final Instagram post, B King showed his excitement about performing in Mexico for the first time. “Many thanks my beautiful and dear Mexico,” he wrote in the caption alongside a backstage video.
The rapper has over 414,000 Instagram followers. His song ‘Muévete Latina‘ has 1.7 streams on Spotify, with the video also boasting 1.3 million views.
