City of Houston names eight people who died at Astroworld

The City of Houston have named the eight people who died at the Astroworld tragedy during Travis Scott’s set.

They revealed Axel Acosta Avila, Mirza Baig, Madison Dubiski, John Hilgert, Jacob Jurinke, Franco Patino, Rodolfo Peña, and Brianna Rodriguez have sadly lost their lives. A statement posted on the City of Houston’s Twitter account reads, “The City of Houston extends heartfelt condolences to the families affected by Friday’s #ASTROWORLDFest tragedy.

“These lives were taken far too soon. Please join us in lifting their families in prayer.” Many fans have since returned to Houston’s NRG Park to pay their tributes to the fatalities following the incident.

Scott has since posted a video on Instagram offering his condolences. “We’re actually working right now to identify the families so we can help assist them during this tough time,” he said.

He continued, “My fans really mean the world to me. I always just really want to leave them with a positive experience. Anytime I can make out what’s going on, I stop the show and help them get the help they need.

Additionally, there are “10 to 15” plaintiffs that attorney Alex Hillard alone is close to filing from attendees against the rapper and Live Nation. He told Rolling Stone he believes he will be representing “hundreds, if not thousands” by the end of the week.

The promoters of the festival, Live Nation, have also announced they’ll be offering support to the families of the casualties and are creating a medical fund to pay for the medical fees of the injured.
