Children of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs refute claims made in their mother’s memoir

The children the late Kim Porter shared with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs have come forward to deny comments made in an alleged memoir by their late mother.

Porter died in 2018 after contracting pneumonia. She was in a relationship with Combs for 13 years, with the couple sharing two children. Following her passing, Combs said in a statement: “We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. WE WERE SOME OTHER SHIT!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love.”

On September 6th, an alleged memoir by Porter was released digitally. The 59-page book, titled Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side, was published days before Combs was arrested in New York on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.

The memoir has been on the receiving end of much criticism and its authenticity has been questioned by those closest to Porter. Notably, it was co-written by Jamal T. Millwood, which is a pseudonym for Chris Todd. In the book, there are various allegations made about sexual encounters involving Combs as well as other notable celebrities.

Defending the book, Todd told Rolling Stone that the memoir consists of diary entries that Porter made which were sent to him on a flash drive. However, he didn’t provide proof that he’s verified the authenticity of the content in Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side.

Todd said to the publication: “If somebody put my feet to the fire and they said, ‘Life or death, is that book real?’ I have to say I don’t know. But it’s real enough to me. Sometimes you have to just put it out there. Maybe not 100% of the book is true, but maybe 80% is. That is to get those people to come forward and either corroborate or deny [the claims], and that helps me as an investigator to know the truth.”

Porter’s best friend Lawanda Lane claimed that “every page in that book is false” and Porter was a “very private” person who “would never” work on a memoir.

Now, Combs and Porter’s children, Christian Jessie, D’Lila, and Quincy, have shared a joint statement condemning the book, writing on Instagram: “We have seen so many hurtful and false rumors circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship. As well as about our mom’s tragic passing.”

They continued: “Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world, and nothing has been the same since she passed. While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established. There was no foul play. Grief is a lifelong process, and we ask that everyone respect our request for peace.”

Combs and Porter’s children are seeking legal advice to deal with Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side.

Combs, who denies all of the charges, is being held without bail in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. No date has been set for his trial.
