Chicago rapper Glizzy The Tweaker shot and killed in robbery attempt

Glizzy The Tweaker was shot and killed in Chicago last week. The rapper (real name Mekhi Moore) died on September 26th during a failed robbery attempt.

The incident took place at around 5pm near 89th Street and Michigan Avenue in the Chatham neighbourhood. 19-year-old Glizzy suffered several gunshot wounds to his chest and was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.

According to The Express Tribune, Glizzy tried to rob a construction worker alongside three others. However, the man was legally licensed to carry a concealed firearm and fired four shots in self-defence. Glizzy was hit, along with one other person, who fled the scene in a car with the two others.

Police responded to reports of gunshots and found two firearms at the scene of the crime, which was a renovation site. The construction worker was released without any charges due to the Concealed Carry Act.
