Chicago rapper claims he was attacked and robbed by police officers

Chicago rapper Rico Recklezz has claimed that he was beaten and robbed by police officers.

The 35-year-old (real name Ronnie Ramsey) took to social media on June 21st to allege that he was involved in an incident with law enforcement.

Recklezz shared a video showing his facial injuries, while telling his 471,000 Instagram followers, “I just got beat up n robbed by the police on my bday I swear I can’t make this up.”

In a clip, he said, “I love God so much, right? I’m so thankful, so blessed, and I just love God. Love God too much. He take away my pain, all my worries, all my stress.”

It’s currently unclear what led to the alleged incident that took place on Father’s Day.

Recklezz released his latest single, ‘Freako Recklezz’, earlier in June. His last project, Koolin n Hell 2, arrived in 2023.

During an interview with XXL in 2018, he opened up about his goals in terms of his hip-hop career.

“I wanna be just like this guy right here [points to poster of Snoop Dogg],” he said. “The way he came out – he fought a murder case, beat a murder case, changed his whole life around, did the music and dedicated his life to his kids, made sure they was straight and gave back. I just wanna be here forever.”

He continued, “20 years from now, you gon’ catch me at the BET Awards with some old dreads getting honoured for some shit. Even if I’m not, I’m just there high as hell watching the young ones, and I’m still getting saluted. I just wanna be in the game long, but I also wanna push my own label, Renegade Records.”
