Chicago rapper arrested after police find stolen gun

Chicago rapper Mello Buckzz has been arrested after police found a stolen gun in her possession.

The 25-year-old (real name Melanie Doyle) was charged following a traffic stop on the city’s Southwest Side last week.

According to Fox 32 Chicago, the arrest took place on June 15th at around 7am. Officers saw a black Mercedes going eastbound on West 19th Street with an illegally tinted windshield.

Buckzz was stopped near 1918 S Rockwell St and was asked to show her driver’s licence. From there, officers saw weed in her purse and vodka on the front passenger side.

A supervising sergeant was then called when she allegedly refused commands to leave the car. After 15 minutes, she was removed from the driver’s seat.

Upon exiting the vehicle, officers found a Glock 43X pistol under her seat, loaded with a round in the chamber and additional ammunition in the magazine.

Buckzz didn’t have a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification card or a concealed carry licence, with police finding that the gun had been stolen from Bedford Park.

She was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, transporting open alcohol, and driving with an obstructed windshield.

The arrest comes almost a year after four people were killed and 14 others were injured at her album release party in River North.

Speaking on losing her boyfriend, she wrote, “We was having so much fun in our private little life. couldnt leave each other alone glued to my hip everyday its not a night we aint spend together. im so fucking angry u was woke i held yo hand until i couldnt u talked to me clearly ion get it boo im fuckked up.”
