Cardi B reveals insane amount of money she made as a stripper
Cardi B has revealed how much money she used to make while stripping before her rap fame.
It’s no secret that the Bronx rapper worked as a stripper when she was a teenager, having opened up about the experience on several occasions.
During a recent live stream, Cardi revealed she earned five figures in just one night when she was working in Texas.
“I remember when I was stripping, Dallas was different,” she said. “They booked me out there and I made about $12,000 in one night. Dead serious. That was good money. Real good money.”
Speaking about her time as a stripper in the past, she admitted that she doesn’t feel any shame about her early life choices.
“Would people feel some type of way if I was a cashier-turned-rapper?” she told The Guardian. “People want me to be so full of shame that I used to dance. I would never be ashamed of it. I made a lot of money, I had a good time and it showed me a lot – it made me open my eyes about how people are, how men are, about hunger and passion and ambition.”
She continued, “Whether or not they were poor choices at the time, I did what I had to do to survive. I never claimed to be perfect or come from a perfect world. I’m a part of a hip-hop culture where you can talk about where you come from, talk about the wrong things you had to do to get where you are.
Cardi released her latest album, Am I the Drama?, in September. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200,000 units in its first week.
Her upcoming tour, the Lil Miss Drama Tour, will begin in February and take place across North America.
