Cardi B receives visit by CPS due to prank call from fan
Cardi B and Offset are currently going through a divorce, and recently, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ singer took to social media to express how she simply wants to co-parent peacefully. However, it seems that all of the hate a rumours swirling around due to the couple being cultural powerhouses in the public eye have culminated in dangerous fan behaviour.
Fans love a power couple, and when married celebrities with children get divorced, issues surrounding custody always end up in the spotlight. However, Cardi B has revealed she was recently visited by the Child Protection Services (CPS) and several police officers after it was alleged that she had been abusing her kids.
The CPS are the relevant authority when it comes to poor parenting, child abuse, and parental wrongdoing. However, none of these apply to Cardi B. Therefore, when she found herself confronted by the CPS and local police, it was extremely alarming as it is often a precursor to having your kids taken away.
That said, when the agency paid her a late-night visit, Cardi knew it was most likely to be an intrusive so-called fan getting into her family business, and she was proved correct.
During an Instagram livestream, the emcee explained how someone unknown to her had called the CPS, knowing that when they receive calls with allegations of mistreatment, they have no choice but to investigate.
It’s normal for fans to be sad or frustrated with their favourite celebrities but, the ‘Clout’ rhymer has already told her followers how stressed she is following the birth of her third child. Still, the visit made her extremely angry.
Speaking on Instagram Live, Cardi stated, “To do a little fucking prank call and get the Child Protection Services to come to my fucking house. [They came to] my gated mansion at 11pm while my children are sleeping because there was an anonymous call saying my kids have been getting abused and beaten. Are you fucking dumb!”
She then made some bold statements, adding, “This is when the pranks start getting too far! When you fucking assholed think this shit is funny. It’s not funny. I’m the only Latin person and black person in this neighbourhood. [My family] are the only coloured people in this neighbourhood completely. So for motherfuckers to pop up with cops and Child Protection Services because you wanna do a prank call. I promise this. I’m gonna sue the Child Protection Services…and I’m also gonna sue the person that did this!”
Cardi has previously sued figures like Tasha K, a blogger and gossip YouTuber, for getting involved in her personal life before, and due to this prank call, she could be prepared to do it again.
