Cardi B and Madonna reconcile after 'WAP' comments

Cardi B and Madonna have reconciled after the latter’s comments on how she laid the foundation for the success of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s hit single ‘WAP’. Madonna claimed that her book Sex was responsible for the wide acceptance of Cardi B’s tune.

The book had been widely considered controversial at the time of its release. Madonna released the book alongside her fifth album, Erotica, in 1992, and it went on to have a significant impact on pop culture throughout the decade.

Madonna took to Instagram to write, “30 years ago, I published a book called Sex. I also wrote about my sexual fantasies and shared my point of view about sexuality in an ironic way. I spent the next few years being interviewed by narrow-minded people who tried to shame me for empowering myself as a Woman. I was called a whore, a witch, a heretic and the devil.”

She then added that because of the impact of her book, “Cardi B can sing about her ‘WAP’. Kim Kardashian can grace the cover of any magazine with her naked ass, and Miley Cyrus can come in like a wrecking ball. You’re welcome bitches.”

Cardi B was not best pleased by these comments. She later responded, “I literally paid this woman homage so many times ’cause I grew up listening to her… she can make her point without putting clown emojis and getting slick out the mouth. These icons really become disappointments once you make it in the industry. That’s why I keep myself to myself.”

However, it now looks like any potential beef has been squashed. Cardi B just wrote on Twitter, “I talked to Madonna… It was beautiful.” Madonna then replied, telling Cardi B that she loves her.

Madonna had recently teased that new music could find release at some point this early next year. She has recently shared a photo of her in a recording studio with the caption, “So great to be back in the studio making Music again. Surprises in the New Year”.
