Cardi B calls herself “hip-hop’s Britney Spears”
Cardi B has compared herself to Britney Spears.
The Bronx rapper has claimed that the way the press obsesses over her every move is comparable to the way it did with Britney at the height of her career.
Cardi took to her Instagram Stories this week, stating that she feels like she can’t do anything without it making headlines.
“I’m really hip-hop’s Britney Spears,” she said on her social media page. “You know I got all the tea on these celebrities, I know who’s fucking who and what’s doing what. But guess what? Nobody reports about it. You wanna know why? Because nobody gives a fuck.”
She continued, “But when it comes to me, the Brim, I can’t even piss in a motherfucking cup, bitch. You gotta take the good with the bad – it is what it is. People pay for this type of talk. Bringing the motherfucking drama.”
The rapper has been making headlines aplenty over the past year following her split from Offset and having a baby with NFL player Stefon Diggs.
Cardi previously sent a supportive message to Britney in 2019 following her stay at a wellness treatment facility.
“I love you and I totally understand,” she said. “Once you have money, everybody just wants to take it from you. Or sometimes you just have, like, your own personal problems.”
She added, “When you’re a celebrity, everyone wants to sue you, everyone wants a piece of the money that you work for – and it’s very frustrating. Then you have, like, the whole world looking at you, no privacy, it’s crazy. I can’t even imagine if you do it for such a long time like her.”
