Cardi B and Offset spotted in same nightclub amid breakup
Invasion of Privacy creator Cardi B and her husband Offset have been airing their dirty laundry in public recently, following Cardi B’s announcement earlier this year that the two were no longer together.
The two rappers had been in a relationship since 2017. However, there have been multiple occasions when Cardi B has told her fans the pair is no more, only for them to reappear months later as the happily married couple they insisted they weren’t.
However, this year, the ‘WAP’ rhymer has come out in harsher tones than usual and has spoken ill of Offset multiple times. She recently went on a rant about her husband, screaming insults such as, “You don’t move with integrity! You not a street n*gga”. She also said, “You’re a lame to me, and you will never equate to me!”
That said, irrespective of all the abuse she has hurled at Offset, some have accused the recent remarks of being a publicity stunt, especially after the pair were recently spotted in a New York City nightclub together.
As reported by media outlet TMZ on October 6th, Cardi B went to a party at The Stafford Room in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen area. However, shortly after her arrival, the DJ loudly announced that her husband was also in the building. Although the couple were not in the same club for a long time, their ability to be so comfortable around each other sparked suspicions about the validity of this breakup.
As cultural commentators and internet personalities began to speak out about the event, Cardi B took to Instagram to shut down all the speculation and told anybody who believed their problems were for publicity to check themselves.
During an Instagram live session, Cardi B explained how stupid it was to suggest that Offset would agree to a publicity stunt that puts him in a bad light, asking, “Do you really think that my baby dad is going to be like, ‘Yeah, do that. I’m gonna sacrifice my career that worked for so hard for your [stuff]?'” She continued, “No. Be real about yourself.”
The ‘Bongos’ performer then explained that because they are married, she is still financially linked to Offset and has to consult about a number of things, detailing, “I don’t really want to hurt my baby father’s career. I have a nanny. The nanny’s $700 an hour. Count that up and see how much. And that’s for one baby.”
Cardi continued, “My kids’ school is $45,000 a year. And I already got two of them in the school. You think I pay that alone? Absolutely not. I don’t want my baby daddy to go broke or nothing, ’cause guess who help[s] over here? You can leave, but you gonna help with these muthafucking kids.”
Both figures are yet to respond to the story of them partying together in Manhattan.
