California rapper arrested on gun charges over Airbnb break-in

California rapper Weez Gotti has been charged after allegedly breaking into an Airbnb.

The 30-year-old (real name Luis Rincon) from North Richmond was hit with charges of felony gun possession after police arrested him on suspicion of leaving a firearm behind during a rental home burglary.

According to The Mercury News, a woman recently rented an Airbnb on Valley View Road in El Sobrante and returned to ask the owner to let her look for money she had left behind.

When the owner refused, the woman allegedly brought Gotti to help her look for the money. They’re accused of entering through the backyard, with investigators capturing them on a security camera.

The owner later found a gun inside the home, with police testing it for DNA and linking it to Gotti.

Gotti is facing charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm in Contra Costa County, along with unrelated charges of breaking into cars in Alameda County.

The rapper is currently detained at Contra Costa County Jail without bail, and his arraignment is set for May 6th.

Gotti has spent time in prison before, with investigators identifying him as a member of a local gang.

He released his latest album, Last Tape In, on March 29th. His biggest song, ‘Big Steppa’, has over 6.7 million views on YouTube, while ‘Loose Lips’ has over 4.4 million streams on Spotify.

Gotti has around 100,000 monthly Spotify listeners and 43,000 followers on Instagram. His latest post came earlier this month as a tribute to his late father, writing “G O T T I. LONG LIVE MY POPS. LONG LIVE UNCLE TEDDY. LONG LIVE STR8 LACE. THIS [SHIT] IN MY BLOOD.”
