Bun B and Trae the Truth share George Floyd tribute

Bun B has remembered the life of George Floyd one year after his brutal murder with his new single, ‘This World’. The track features Trae Tha Truth, Raheem DeVaughn, and Big K.R.I.T., with production by Cory Mo and Zaytoven.

Floyd’s death proved to be a moment that shook not just America but the world as people joined forces to fight racial injustice. Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who was culpable for Floyd’s death, has since been sentenced to life imprisonment for his actions.

The video for the track captures the essence of how Floyd’s death made the world stand up to fight against police violence and systemic injustices. The visuals ends with the poignant message, “Now is the time to stand up and fight against police brutality and systemic racism that plagues the United States of America. We can act now to take control of the power structures that be and destroy the system that is in place. No longer will we stand for the oppression be levied upon us by the white man.”

Bun B took to on Instagram to write, “I am honoring the memory of George Floyd with my new single ‘This World.” Later, in another post he added, “It’s been a year but what has changed? So the fight continues and we turn our pain into purpose.”
