Brandy freestyles over Jack Harlow’s ‘First Class’ beat

Brandy has shared a freestyle over the top of Jack Harlow’s chart-topping track, ‘First Class’.

She agreed to take on a Harlow song after the Louisville native recently upset the elder statesman of the rap community when he appeared on Hot 97, and thought the Brandy track they played was by Aaliyah. When he was given a clue about her brother being the reason “a lot of people are famous,” Harlow admitted he had no clue Ray J and Brandy were siblings.

In response, Brandy tweeted: “I will murk this dude in rap at 43 on his own beats and then sing [his] a** to sleep.” She’s stayed true to her promise, and now she’s taken on ‘First Class’.”

In all likelihood, Harlow didn’t mean to disrespect Brandy, and the gap in his knowledge was largely down to a generational gap rather than any bad intention, but, she’s stayed true to her promise by spitting over ‘First Class’.

“Living legend, did I mention my résumé is amazing, The game need a breath of fresh air and I’m breathtaking,” Brandy raps towards the start of the track. “Paintin’ pictures, Cinderella scriptures, But that don’t mean jack in the streets, Jack of all trades, now I’m here jacking for beats.”

Harlow recently returned to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with the track which dislodged Harry Styles. However, his new album, Come Home The Kids Miss You, failed to make it a chart double for Harlow. The record landed at number three behind Bad Bunny and Future but shifted an impressive 113,000 album-equivalent units.
