Boosie Badazz thinks the NBA should ban players from wearing nail varnish
Boosie Badazz believes that NBA players shouldn’t be allowed to wear nail varnish.
The Baton Rouge rapper, who is no stranger to making homophobic comments, took to social media over the weekend to speak on nail painting.
“NBA SHOULD BAN FINGERNAIL POLISH,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), followed by a vomiting emoji.
Boosie appeared to be referring to shooting guard Jared McCain, who is currently playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.
During an interview with Complex, McCain once revealed that he first painted his nail during the pandemic.
“I never saw anything wrong with it,” he said. “I understand girls do it. I understand men have started to do it a little more recently, but it was just something I saw, and I like to get manicures and pedicures. I take care of my body.”
He added, “The hate is funny because it’s usually grown men most of the time, and it’s like, you’re a grown man just hating on a kid. It doesn’t affect me at all. I kind of just laugh at it.”
This isn’t the first time Boosie has shared his thoughts on men wearing nail varnish. In 2024, he said, “IF A MAN IS PAINTING HIS NAILS, ITS EQUAL TO A MAN WEARING A THONG UP HIS AXX #realtalk get it sexy get it sexy.”
Despite his comments over the years, he previously claimed that he doesn’t have any issues with the LGBTQ+ community.
“I just never agreed [with] what they was pushing on the younger generation, and I spoke on that,” he said. “And I spoke about a couple more situations that made a lot of people turn on me: the Dwyane Wade situation. But I have gays in my family. How can I hate a gay person? My assistant, who brings in millions of dollars to me, is gay. And I just got – I want that to get off my status. I’m not like that.”
