Birmingham rapper escapes from prison and prompts police manhunt
Birmingham drill rapper Tallerz has escaped from prison.
The 28-year-old (real name Tyreece Clarke-Jones) is currently on the run after absconding from HMP Sudbury, in Oaks Green, England, on May 23rd.
Derbyshire Constabulary made an appeal to the public on May 26th, asking for help in locating the rapper.
Tallerz was serving an eight-year and nine-month prison sentence for robbery before he broke out of the prison. Police have asked anyone with information on his whereabouts not to approach him and contact them instead.
A Derbyshire Police spokesperson said, “He is described as 6ft tall, with black braided hair, and is of a muscular build. He has tattoos on both forearms and was wearing grey joggers with a black waistband, black socks and no top when he was last seen.”
They continued, “Clarke-Jones has links to the West Midlands – namely the Birmingham, West Bromwich, Yardley, and Walsall areas. He also has links to Sheffield, Leeds and the Failsworth area of Manchester.”
Tallerz is best known for songs such as ‘Used 2 Dis’, ‘Take the Risk’, and ‘Die Young (Remix)’, which have over half a million streams on Spotify. The YouTube video for ‘Take the Risk’ has 1.4 million views.
He isn’t the only fugitive UK rapper to make headlines this year. Dsavv escaped not once, but twice in February, breaking out of hospitals on both occasions.
The 21-year-old escaped from West Middlesex University Hospital on February 10th before being captured in Thamesmead on February 12th, where he was arrested on suspicion of escaping from lawful custody and aggravated burglary.
Then, he escaped from University Hospital Lewisham on February 15th, while taunting police officers with the release of a song called ‘‘The Race’.
