BigXthaPlug arrested on marijuana possession charge

BigXthaPlug was arrested on February 26th on a marijuana possession charge. The Dallas rapper (real name Xavier Landum) was brought into Arlington City Jail in the early hours of the morning after being charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana.

The Arlington Police Department said officers pulled over BigX due to driving with expired tags. A cop claimed he could smell weed as he approached the car before asking BigX and the passenger, Cleodist Landum, to exit the vehicle. Officers said they could see cigarettes with a green leafy substance in the console of the car, as well as a handgun in the passenger door pocket.

According to TMZ, Cleodist, who is BigX’s relative, had an active felony warrant in Bexar County, Texas. After being brought into custody, they allegedly found marijuana on him. He was booked into Arlington City Jail on the warrant, as well as possession of marijuana and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

BigX revealed he smoked a large amount of marijuana during a conversation with Interview Magazine last year. “I smoke a lot of weed, so a lot of the time it just smells like weed to me,” he said. “All my weed already be rolled. They used to be rolled before I woke up. But now I’m here on tour by myself.”

He added, “I got to make sure they already rolled because you never know who’s going to piss you off. When they piss you off, just light the Backwood. You got to have it ready.”

BigX was also kicked out of D3 Crown Junior College in Minnesota for smoking weed, disappointing his family. “I was the one that was supposed to make it, and because I didn’t, I feel like everybody turned their back on me when I got kicked out,” he told Rolling Stone.

His latest album, Take Care, was released in October, peaking at number eight on the Billboard 200 chart before a deluxe version dropped in January. BigX has been buzzing in recent years with songs like ‘Mmhmm’, which has over 338 million Spotify streams, and ‘Back on My BS’, which boasts 223 million. Other notable tracks include ‘The Largest’, ‘Change Me’, ‘Levels’, ‘Mr. Trouble’ and ‘Texas’.
