Big Tigger arrested in Atlanta on battery and child cruelty charges

Rap figure Big Tigger has been arrested on battery and child cruelty charges.

The rapper, DJ and television personality, best known for hosting shows like Rap City and 106 and Park, was brought into custody on June 20th.

According to Fox 7 Austin, the 53-year-old (real name Darian Morgan) was booked into Fulton County Jail that morning and charged with battery, aggravated battery, and third-degree cruelty to children.

Tigger was released the same day after posting a $10,000 bond; $9,000 was for the aggravated battery charge, and $1,000 was for the child cruelty charge.

The arrest was related to a domestic dispute on May 9th. His wife claims they had an argument over text messages on Tigger’s phone that turned physical, alleging that he tackled her to the floor to get his phone back.

She claims he later grabbed her arms and forcefully shoved her after she went down to the basement to unplug a computer.

As a result of the shove, she allegedly fell headfirst into the door and suffered a deep laceration above her left eye that needed stitches, leaving visible disfigurement.

Following the incident, Tigger allegedly drove his wife to receive treatment and claimed she had tripped and fallen. However, medical staff contacted the police due to the severity of the head injury.

His wife claimed she feared retaliation when the police asked why she didn’t tell the truth. Their 13-year-old son was upstairs at the time, resulting in the child cruelty charge.

Tigger has over 912,000 Instagram followers and has collaborated with the likes of R Kelly, Ginuwine, Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Redman, Too $hort, Pete Rock, and others throughout his career.
