Big L posthumous album ‘Harlem’s Finest’ to feature Jay-Z, Nas, Mac Miller and more

The tracklist for Big L‘s posthumous album, Harlem’s Finest: Return of the King, has been revealed ahead of its release on October 31st.

Releasing on Mass Appeal Records, Harlem’s Finest will include 14 tracks with features from Jay-Z, Nas, Method Man, Mac Miller, Joe Budden, Joey Bada$$, and many others.

Sharing the tracklist on Instagram, his estate wrote, “Thank you to every Big L fan who’s kept his name alive all these years. Over the past twenty years, there were over 100 million views and streams of his music out there – most of it released without his brother @bigdon4ever knowing how to find it, track it, or monetize it.”

The continued, “There were labels set up, artwork, and videos created that he and Big L’s half sister, Tyece had never seen. Thanks to @nas and the team at @massappealrecs, we were finally able to create a brand-new master from those unauthorized songs that the Estate of Lamont ‘Big L’ Coleman owns outright.”

The project will serve as the late Harlem rapper’s first posthumous album since The Danger Zone in 2011.

Harlem’s Finest is part of a series of iconic rappers releasing albums on the Mass Appeal label in 2025, including Slick Rick, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Mobb Deep, De La Soul, and a joint project between Nas and DJ Premier.

Big L was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in February 1999. The only album released during his lifetime, Lifestylez ov da Poor and Dangerous, came out in 1995. The Big Picture was posthumously released on Rawkus Records in 2000.
