Big Boi’s uncle shot and killed in Atlanta road rage incident

Big Boi‘s uncle was shot and killed during a road rage incident in Atlanta, Georgia, last month. On June 26th, 62-year-old Remoin Patton was found dead on the 200 block of Joseph E Lowery Boulevard NW at around 5:35pm.

Patton suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the back. The Atlanta Police Department claims the victim had a verbal exchange with another driver when he was attempting to make a turn. This resulted in him being shot and crashing into a vacant home.

18-year-old Jabyrion Crumbley is facing charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He turned himself in at the Fulton County Jail on July 2nd, where he remains without bail.

32-year-old Janisha Crumbley was also arrested during a traffic stop on June 20th and is facing charges of hindering the apprehension of a felon.

A police statement read, “Investigators with the Homicide Unit responded to the scene and are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.

The Outkast rapper paid tribute to his uncle in a statement to WSBTV. “Everybody who knows Uncle Moonie heart aches,” he said. “He wasn’t just ‘My’ Uncle, he was Unk to all that met him. A moment of rage has in totally pierced the heart of my family forever. May Uncle Moonie’s soul rest in peace.”

He also took to Instagram to share memories of his uncle, posting videos and photos to his 2.2 million followers. In the caption, he wrote, “Long Live Uncle Moonie ….Miss ya UNC. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”
