Bhad Bhabie reveals cancer diagnosis
Bhad Bhabie first rose to fame in 2016. However, many knew her as Danielle Bregoli or the ‘Cash Me Outside Girl’, the latter was due to a television appearance she made. Since her appearance on Dr Phil in 2016, when she called the audience “a bunch of hoes”, Bhad Babie has continued to release hip-hop music.
Still, although she’s a divisive figure in rap music, people were shocked when she recently unveiled that she had been diagnosed with cancer. The emcee decided to disclose her condition after people began speculating about why she had been losing and gaining weight so quickly over the past few years.
Fans have been highlighting her dramatic loss of weight in the comments on her Instagram page, and many speculated that she was taking Ozempic, which spawned other rumours and speculation. Still, as a result of this, Bregoli wanted to put an end to it by explicitly talking about medication prescribed to her by a doctor.
The bombshell news was dropped on her Instagram Story, during which she blasted fans for “running with the worst narrative” and showing her complete disrespect when she’s already having issues with her image.
She continued, “I’m sorry my cancer medicine made me lose weight. I’m slowly gaining it back. So stop running with the worst narratives.” Bhad Bhabie has previously spoken about struggling with her body image and not liking how she looks, but this is the first time she has admitted it has to do with a serious illness that she has had to contend with for most of her career.
The ‘Gucci Flip Flops’ rhymer didn’t tell fans what type of cancer she is seeing the effects of, but she did express the sense of frustration she gets from fans constantly talking about her appearance and not her music. She even labelled some of it as close to “body shaming.”
In a 2022 Instagram Story, Bhad Babie looked back on her life and unveiled that she has always had issues with her weight and doesn’t like it, unveiling, “I’ve always been underweight no matter how much I ate I could never gain. I’ve been 80-85 pounds since I was 12. My goal weight was always 105, but I never thought I would be able to make it past 95.” Bhad Bhabie asserted that she had never been “happier” with the way her body looked.
Furthermore, Bregoli admitted that she had cosmetic surgery when she was very young, disclosing, “Funny thing about it is I’ve had ass shots since I was 17. I’m just now starting to have an ass, so yes, ima call my ass natural bc it still wasn’t there till I started gaining weight.”
Bhad Bhabie also became a mother earlier this year. She told Paper Magazine that she was happy to be a mother and build a great relationship with her child.
