A$AP Relli drops A$AP Rocky shooting lawsuit after “nightmare” ordeal

A$AP Relli has officially dropped his shooting lawsuit against A$AP Rocky, months before a second trial was scheduled to take place.

In February, Rocky was found not guilty of two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm after being accused of shooting his former friend in 2021.

Relli was seeking financial damages in an assault lawsuit in 2022, but the former A$AP Mob member has decided to walk away from the legal battle ahead of the January trial.

His lawyer, Aaron Morris, told Billboard, “At this point, he’s ready to simply move on from the shooting. The ordeal has been a nightmare for him, and the statements calling him a ‘liar’ and worse effectively eliminated his chances of a career in the industry.”

Superior Court Judge Randolph Hammock previously advised Relli to drop the lawsuit due to legal fees, saying, “I would urge you to contact the other side and see if a deal can be made.”

Despite the lawsuit against Rocky being dropped, Relli is still keeping alive a defamation lawsuit against the rapper and his attorney, Joe Tacopina, over comments made in the media.

Morris added, “He’s going to litigate the defamation action because of the damages it caused, but as to the shooting, he’s thankful he wasn’t hurt worse and is focusing on rebuilding his life.”

Tacopina recently attempted to dismiss the lawsuit with an anti-SLAPP motion, but Hammock rejected the request.

In various interviews, the lawyer called out Relli, saying his lawsuit was “an extortion attempt by a former associate” and that “Relli has made up the story in a get-rich-quick scheme.”

He also said that “A$AP Rocky is the victim of a failed shakedown and fabricated shooting accusation orchestrated by his jealous former friend A$AP Relli.”
