Artists pay tribute to Mac Miller on the third anniversary of his death

On the third anniversary of Mac Miller’s death, the music world has united and mourned the painful loss of the rapper.

The rapper tragically died, aged 26, on September 7th, 2018, after suffering an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol, according to the toxicology report released by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office. He was discovered dead at his home in San Fernando Valley.

Three men are set to go on trial on November 16th in connection with his death. They have been in custody in L.A. since their arrests in 2019.

Tributes poured in from names including Juicy J, Flying Lotus, Kehlani, Schoolboy Q, Ty Dolla $ign, and Kid Cudi, who all remembered Mac on social media. Cudi performed ‘Pursuit of Happiness’ at Coachella in tribute to his fallen friend two years ago and posted, “Always in my heart man”. Meanwhile, Kehlani added, “Forever n ever”.

Juicy J told his followers to “smoke out & listen to Mac Miller all day” , and Flying Lotus simply said, “Mac Miller forever”. Additionally, Ty Dolla $ign retweeted a post by the official Mac Miller Memoir account.

“Not one day that goes by where you aren’t swimming in circles in my mind, Love you always Mac”, wrote his confidante Thundercat alongside an image of them performing together in an NPR Tiny Desk Concert.
