A cartel member is suing Diddy for ruining his drug business
An individual who has admitted to being a member of the Sinaloa drug cartel has filed a lawsuit against hip-hop mogul and the centre of controversy recently, Sean “Diddy” Combs. He is also suing Bad Boy Entertainment, stating that their defamation has ruined his ongoing illicit drug business.
The case was filed in the Southern District of New York. The cartel member, Alfredo P Gonzalez, filed the complaint stating that Diddy and Bad Boy Entertainment have tarnished his reputation in New York’s underworld. He says that thanks to them, he has lost a lot of business selling drugs.
According to Gonzalez, the trouble began when Diddy asked him to help traffic minors for parties. Gonzalez refused to help Diddy do this and, in turn, was told that his life would be made hell thanks to the “Power [Combs] has in the streets.”
Gonzalez said he went on to lose all of his New York-based drug contacts, which massively impacted his business.
While Gonzalez was passionate about bringing his case forward, Judge Swain dismissed it on multiple grounds. She pointed out that the case had no legal ground because the losses that Gonzalez is claiming to have suffered are all the product of illegal activities. Given that selling drugs is illegal and the proceeds made from doing so are also illegal, their loss is not protected by the law. Swain also denied the case, stating that the claims made by Gonzalez were frivolous and lacked “An arguable basis either in law or in fact.”
Gonzalez asked for time to amend his lawsuit, but the judge also denied this, as she said that the defects in his case and the reason for it being thrown out cannot be amended.
This isn’t the first lawsuit that Combs has been involved in recently, in fact, his life as of late has been plagued by unsightly lawsuits that continue to drag down his reputation. Individuals have come forward with allegations of sexual assault, which have led to a series of lawsuits which remain ongoing.
The string of accusations surrounding Diddy has triggered a federal investigation, and reports suggest that the authorities are currently looking into charges of potential sex trafficking. This was mentioned in Gonzalez’s lawsuit, as he claims that the reason Diddy and Co tried to tarnish his reputation is because he wouldn’t help them traffic minors to parties. While his case has been thrown out, it may well be that Gonzalez is brought forward to testify in future cases filed against Combs.
