6ix9ine releases diss track to hit out at ex Yailin La Mas Viral
On September 4th, rapper 6ix9ine released a diss track targeting his ex-girlfriend and fellow artist, Yailin La Mas Viral. The track, accompanied by a telling music video, delves into their past relationship, which lasted throughout 2023 before ending in August.
Using his typical trap/RnB style, 6ix9ine performs the song entirely in Spanish with a slightly mellow tone to address his Dominican ex-girlfriend. Featuring a collaboration with Lenier, the new single is titled ‘Respuesta’, which translates to ‘Answer’ in English. The accompanying music video shows the rapper dressed in a black suit, with footage of the couple during their time together traced throughout the video.
6ix9ine and Yailin La Mas Viral’s breakup appears to be handled very differently by both parties. Viral publicly joked about her newfound single status on Instagram shortly after the split, while 6ix9ine addresses the split with a hint of bitterness in ‘Respuesta’.
Unlike the traditional diss track, which wages war with gritted teeth, 6ix9ine’s new single reflects on the relationship with regret, identifying the positives of their time together. The video also includes scenes depicting 6ix9ine spending time with Viral’s son, whose father is rapper Anuel AA.
Of course, the relationship wasn’t without its issues. In January, 6ix9ine was jailed in Viral’s native Dominican Republic following a domestic violence report made by the latter’s mother. Though this incident wasn’t the final nor only nail in the coffin, it was presumably a hefty contributing factor.
The legal drama in the relationship was a two-way street, too. In 2023, a warrant was sworn out for Viral’s arrest. According to Hot New Hiphop, the singer owed $25,500 to New Decoración, the company that remodelled her apartment and failed to deliver in a timely manner.
At the time, 6ix9ine took to his Instagram page to defend his then-partner. “I want to tell the audience not to believe everything that appears on social media,” he noted. “Especially from a country where there is no justice. It is very corrupt.”
