6ix9ine lands international warrant for his arrest
It seems that 6ix9ine has managed to get himself in trouble with the law again, as the Dominican Republic has reportedly issued an international warrant for the rapper’s arrest.
This report comes from the local news outlet Diario Libre, which initially broke the story on August 29th. According to the publication, the Court of Appeals in the Judicial District of La Vega posted this warrant and said that the rapper was “in rebellion” outside of the Dominican Republic as of June, 2024.
As a result, the DR requests that law enforcement authorities from around the globe attempt to apprehend the rapper in any country that they find him in (provided he doesn’t surrender first).
This warrant stems from an incident that dates back to October, 2023, when 6ix9ine was charged with assaulting two producers. Both of these producers’ lawyers recently filed a motion to request his arrest.
The alleged assault is said to have occurred during a recording session with the rapper’s girlfriend at the time, Yailin La Mas Viral. In January, 2024, 6ix9ine was arrested once again in the Dominican Republic after claims of domestic abuse towards his girlfriend. The authorities stepped in and ordered the rapper to pay a $510 deposit, attend government counselling and reunite once every two months to close their investigation into his alleged abuse of Yailin.
This latest legal issue following a string of bad news for 6ix9ine. One of his previous relationships is currently being flaunted, as Lil Tjay has given his ex-partner a chain. Plus, one of his cars was recently seen on an auction website, letting the public know that the rapper is going through money trouble. Regardless, 6ix9ine continues to struggle through both his personal and legal battles.
At this stage, the repercussions of this international warrant and how much more complicated it could make things for the rapper are unknown. As of yet, there are no reported sightings of 6ix9ine, and it remains to be seen whether he will continue to stay in hiding or turn himself in.
Despite the ongoing legal trouble, 6ix9ine is still releasing new music. He recently dropped a brand new single, ‘Wassup’, which he believes marks the beginning of a new era. How this track will be received in the long run remains to be seen, and we are still waiting to see if 6ix9ine’s music will continue to connect with fans despite all the legal drama.
