50 Cent releases surprise new song for ‘Power: Origins’ series

50 Cent has released a new track ahead of his Power: Origins series, which is set to arrive in 2026 or 2027.

The G-Unit rapper dropped the song, titled ‘No One Told Us What We’re Here For’ on March 6th, which serves as a collaboration with singer Leon Thomas.

‘No One Told Us What We’re Here For’ is short and sweet, consisting of just one verse from 50, and will be the official theme song for Power: Origins.

50 raps, “I’m a magician, I put that pain in the pot/ Ice cubes, watch it lock/ Now look at what we got/ I turn a brick to drop/ A fiend straight to a spot.”

Towards the end of the song, 50 also has some bars that sound like possible shots at T.I., with whom he’s currently beefing. He spits, “Your daddy made your mama eat every box in Atlanta/ Freak shit, peep shit, keep shit/ On the low, but everybody know.”

50 posted the song on his YouTube channel, featuring a black-and-white photo of him and Eminem shaking hands.

Thomas sings in the chorus, “No one told us what we’re here for/ Lord, don’t you let us get guided wrong, no/ Poverty is all we know/ So hustlin’ is all we know/ Forgive us for our sins, Lord/ No one told us what we’re here for.”

Power: Origins is the fourth Power spinoff and second prequel of 50’s popular series, following the early lives of James St Patrick and Tommy Egan.

The latest instalment of the Power Universe is described as “a fun, rambunctious exploration of a new time period in the ‘Power’ franchise” about “the unbridled audacity of young men on the rise, determined to become legends in the game.”

The first season is set to include 18 episodes, with cast members including Spence Moore II, Charlie Mann, Mekai Curtis, Jennifer Ferrin, and Armani Gabriel.
