50 Cent announces release date for Netflix documentary about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
50 Cent has officially announced a new documentary series titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which is coming to Netflix.
The four-part docuseries, executive produced by 50 and directed by Alexandria Stapleton, will “unpack the shocking allegations behind Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and his Bad Boy empire, spanning decades of his life and career.”
Streaming on December 3rd, the series is described as “a staggering examination of the media mogul, music legend, and convicted offender.”
Combs has been hit with many allegations of sexual assault since he was arrested in September 2024. Earlier this year, he was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and sentenced to four years and two months in prison.
A synopsis for Sean Combs: The Reckoning reads, “Through explosive, never-before-seen materials, including exclusive interviews with those formerly in his orbit, this documentary tells the story of a powerful, enterprising man and the gilded empire he built – and the underworld that lay just beneath its surface.
The upcoming series was initially known as Diddy Do It? when it was first announced. Then, it evolved to Mogul, and now Sean Combs: The Reckoning.
In a statement, 50 said, “I’ve been committed to real storytelling for years through G-Unit Film and Television. I’m grateful to everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories, and proud to have Alexandria Stapleton as the director on the project to bring this important story to the screen.”
Stapleton added, “This isn’t just about the story of Sean Combs or the story of Cassie, or the story of any of the victims, or the allegations against him, or the trial. Ultimately, this story is a mirror [reflecting us] as the public, and what we are saying when we put our celebrities on such a high pedestal. I hope [this documentary] is a wake-up call for how we idolise people, and to understand that everybody is a human being.”
