50 Cent announces new movie ‘Moses the Black’ starring Wiz Khalifa and Quavo

50 Cent has announced a new movie, Moses the Black, which will star Wiz Khalifa and Quavo. The gangland drama also includes Mike Epps, best known for his role in 50’s Power Book III: Raising Kanan series, and Chukwudi Iwuji, who starred in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 2023.

Directed by Yelena Popovic, the film is said to follow the story of “a gangster in modern day Chicago, inspired by the repentance story of the fifth-century saint of the same name.” 50 and his G-Unit Film and Television company are on board as executive producers.

According to Deadline, Epps will play a gang leader named Malik, with Khalifa starring as 2wo-3ree, a volatile leader of his young crew. Migos star Quavo will play Straw, Malik’s arch-nemesis, while Iwuji takes on the role of Iwuji, the title character, St. Moses the Black.

The film will be Khalifa’s second movie role following 2023’s Spinning Gold, in which he played Parliament-Funkadelic’s George Clinton. It will be his first lead role in a film, which he’s also an executive producer for through Taylor Gang Films.

In a statement, Khalifa said, “I’m excited to be working with Yelena and alongside Omar, Quavo and Chukwudi on Moses the Black. As an actor and executive producer on the project, I can’t wait to start shooting and for all my fans to see the film!”

Epps added, “Yelena Popovic is an immensely impactful storyteller, and I’m looking forward to bringing Moses the Black to life alongside this incredibly talented group of artists.”

50 took to Instagram on March 11th to reveal the news, adding that Detroit rapper Skilla Baby and Big Bubba would also star in the film. He wrote in the caption, “My new movie (Moses the Black) is gonna be out of here. Also @babydubai_hbtl & @skillababy have been casted. Stop playing with me I’m not playing.”

In a statement, 50 added, “I’m excited to be a part of Moses the Black as an executive producer. Collaborating with great talent ensures we’re bringing authentic and compelling stories to the screen. Yelena’s vision for this film is sure to create a hit.”
