50 Cent is creating a new series titled 'Vice City'

Paramount+ is currently developing a new series from 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) which has the working title of Vice City.

Despite its name, the upcoming series has nothing to do with the Grand Theft Auto videogame series. According to Deadline, who broke news of the series, the drama “follows three friends, and former soldiers, who return to their home city of Miami in the mid-80s after being dishonorably discharged from the military for their involvement in the Iran Contra scandal.

“Disgraced, displaced, and forgotten by the country they served and with no good job prospects, the three friends partner with a mysterious Colombian immigrant, uniting their financial needs and criminal ambitions to form a heist crew. Fueled by the need for American green, they traverse a violent and dangerous path in pursuit of the American Dream.”

Since the story was published, Jackson has taken to his Instagram to confirm the exciting news. He shared a screenshot the article, and captioned the post: “From the director of John Wick Chad Stahelski & ya Boy 50 VICE CITY GLG BOOM I don’t miss.”

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Billboard, Jackson revealed why he doesn’t plan to release any live music soon and is happy to live off his old songs. He said: “I get the attention that I want from music when I want it. I just went out and toured 45 countries, and everywhere was sold out. That made me want to offer new music that I could integrate into everything now. I’ve done what I wanted to do in the [sales] capacity. I’ve sold over 35 million records. Not singles — albums.”
