50 Cent reacts to lawsuit claiming Fat Joe tried to murder him
Last week, Fat Joe was sued by his former hype man for sex trafficking and fraud. In one part of the $20 million lawsuit, Terrance ‘TA’ Dixon alleged Joe (real name Joseph Cartagena) attempted to hire someone to kill 50 Cent during their beef. Now, 50 has reacted to the claims.
Dixon accused Joe of making multiple threats against his life. The lawsuit read, “These acts were not isolated or impulsive—they were strategic and methodically issued to assert dominance and protect [his] status in the entertainment industry.” Then, referencing 50, the documents said, “That pattern also includes an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting Curtis Jackson [50 Cent].”
The lawsuit went on to detail an alleged incident that took place in the 2000s, claiming Joe tried to get 50 murdered but failed due to his high-level security team.
“[Fat Joe] engaged in a calculated and premeditated conspiracy to murder rapper Curtis Jackson, known professionally as ’50 Cent,'” the suit continued.
It added: “Around the winter of 2006–2007, Defendant Cartagena was residing in Miami when he received a call reporting 50 Cent’s presence at a New York venue. Defendant Cartagena ordered the hit, but 50 Cent was surrounded by ‘Navy Seal’ type security, and the would-be assassins were afraid to make the attempt.”
The lawsuit claims Joe admitted he placed “a bag on 50 Cent’s head” and “expressed frustration that he had not yet succeeded in executing the plot,” having been “trying to get this n*gga for a minute.”
It continued, “The defendant was visibly distraught and shaking when discussing the plot’s failure, suggesting not only intent and active planning but also direct coordination with individuals acting on his behalf.
“The plot involved tracking 50 Cent’s movements via his performance schedule and attempting to ambush him at multiple public venues … The attempted assassination is consistent with the Enterprise’s pattern of retaliatory violence against perceived disloyalty, disrespect, or competition.”
50 took to Instagram over the weekend to respond the the allegations in the suit, claiming they are false. “These baseless, accusations and claims are not credible,” he wrote. “I’m sorry joe has to endure the public scrutiny and damage to his reputation. THIS A STICK UP ! I wrote this hook I should a kept this one.”
The two rappers feuded in the 2000s. Last year, 50 admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that he “wasted too much time” beefing with Joe and Cam’ron.
