50 Cent disses former G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks
50 Cent has taken shots at his former collaborator Lloyd Banks amid a debate over who’s better between him and Fabolous.
Fellow G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo appeared on a new episode of The Breakfast Club and argued that Banks is the superior artist.
50 took to Instagram to share a clip from the interview, while adding his own thoughts about the two rappers.
According to 50, they both have big egos and don’t sell records anymore, while never putting any time into self-improvement.
“Fab vs. Banks,” he wrote in the since-deleted post. “They both write better when it’s about girls, they both think they are better than everybody. They both never put in no work them selves.”
He continued, “They both are not likely to sell at this point in their career. IT’s A TIE LADIES & GENTLEMAN. They are the same.”
Banks released three solo albums on G-Unit Records, including 2004’s The Hunger for More, 2006’s Rotten Apple, and 2010’s H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2).
50 has been critical of both Banks and Yayo in the past, calling the former artist a “lazy” person in his 2020 book, Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter.
“I always felt that if I had maybe done a better job teaching Banks and Yayo how to evolve and change their habits, they each would be in better places right now,” he wrote. “While I was out hustling, Banks was more content staying on his porch and watching the world from there.”
Another excerpt read, “Banks wanted things to come to him, as opposed to going out and getting them for himself. That’s not me trying to assassinate his character. The guy has ‘Lazy Lloyd’ tattooed on his arm. He literally wears his laziness on his sleeve.”
