21 Savage shares two new songs, ‘No Debate’ and ‘Big Smoke’

21 Savage is beginning the year on the front foot with two new songs, ‘No Debate’ and ‘Big Smoke’.

The new singles have been a long time coming for Savage, who hasn’t released a solo album since 2018’s I Am>I Was, and his presence has been missed. 2022 looks set to be the year that the prolonged wait for a new album by the Atlanta star finally ends, and these two new singles signify a promising start.

Both tracks feature the trademark trappy beats that we associate with Savage, with ‘No Debate’ offering a more confessional tne out of the two, while ‘Big Smoke’ is the more club-friendly release.

Speaking to Apple Music’s Ebro Darden last May, Savage hinted at releasing a project before the year was out. However, the rapper never set a firm deadline, and now it looks set to arrive in 2022 instead.

“That’s what I’m planning on,” he said in response to whether a solo album would drop in 2021. “But I like quality work. So however long that take, it’ll take but I’m dropping something, for sure.”

Savage recruited Cardo and Deats to produce ‘No Debate’, while Kid Hazel was on production duties for ‘Big Smoke’. The tracks arrive in a joint music video that Marko Steez has directed, check it out below.
